Scenic Acres is a residential community in northwest Calgary. Originally established in 1981, the community gets its name from some of the beautiful open spaces in which it is set. This community has always catered to those with young families, and is home to two elementary schools, one public and one separate. With the Crowfoot LRT station being installed minutes away, it has never been easier for residents of Scenic Acres to reach downtown.

Scenic Acres is a great place for those who value an active lifestyle. Not only does the community offer panoramic views of the city, the Bow River Valley and the mountains to the west it also features numerous pathways that offer access to these areas and endless jogging and hiking opportunities for those who need them.

The community association in Scenic Acres is among the most active of its type. Not only are they constantly using the community center to host activities such as dance, aerobics, karate, yoga, Girl Guides and Boy Scouts, they are also hard at work advocating on behalf of the area’s residents.

The Scenic Acres Community Association is responsible for lowering the grade of the nearby ring road Stoney Trail and raising the berm system to cut down on ambient traffic noise. They are also responsible for many formative changes throughout the area, and always make sure the residents voices are heard.

Scenic Acres residents have access to plenty of shopping, including the Crowfoot Center right next door. The Crowfoot Center is one of the largest outdoor shopping malls in all of Calgary and has over 240 services available. If the hiking trails that surround Scenic Acres aren’t enough, Crowfoot also offers access to a YMCA, a huge indoor recreation and sports facility that serves the needs of the entire northwest.

As of early 2000 all of the buildings in Scenic Acres were detached single family residences, but since then a few condominiums have been built. The average price for a home in Scenic Acres hovers around $480,000, and the average price of a condominium is $390,000. Neither homes nor condos stay on the market for long in this beautiful suburban community.
